Eddie Van Halen donated 75 guitars to schools in Los Angeles

THE angels, Jan. 12 (UPI) - the leader of the band Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen, gave a large number of instruments to schools in Los Angeles through the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, so that they are used by his pupils.
"Music is the universal language." It has the ability to transcend and transmit human emotions that exist without saying a Word. "Music I pulled of the streets and me away from problems and gave me something that was mine and that anyone could get me out," said Eddie who gave 75 of his guitars.
"If I can help a child to discover the taste, or even a passion for the music in your life, then that would be a wonderful thing." "Music has given me a good life and I hope you can help improve the lives of others with this donation."
They van Halen launched "A Different Kind of Truth", their new album on February 7 and is the first album by the band with David Lee Roth on vocals since 1984. The group performed their first show with David's back in the group in New York last week and the first single from the album, called "Tattoo", was released on Monday.
